GUA782 was a Leyland Titan TD5 with Roe H31/25R body, new as Leeds City Transport no. 316 in 1938.
Leeds evidently preferred its AEC Regents to the Leyland product, as all four of this batch of Titans were withdrawn in 1950 and sold, whereas the contemporary AECs lasted for up to a further 6 years. Sold to Norths, dealer, in November 1951, two of the batch went to Barton Transport, but this example passed to OK Motor Services (W.Emmerson) of Bishop Auckland, remaining in service until 1959. After withdrawal it was converted into a tree lopper. By the time this photograph was taken, the impression was that it had not been used recently, but in fact it remained with OK for over a year and a half more, before being sold around December 1967 to a Barnsley breaker.
