The crew take a rest on the seat opposite the Traveller's Rest at Hill Top, the Whingate terminus of the service from Seacroft (South Parkway), whilst a man in a top hat strolls past. Seen on the first day of the route, MNW703, Leeds 703, was one of twenty Crossley H30/26R bodied Crossley DD42/7s new in 1948.
The western section of the Whingate to Crossgates tram route had been abandoned the previous evening and the Whingate end was joined on to the former 78 and 79 services to Seacroft from the Central Bus Station as 15 and 16 respectively.
