West Yorkshire PTE 498, JUG498L, a Leyland AN68/2R with Roe H45/33D body, new to Leeds City Transport in 1973.
One of six two-door Atlanteans loaned by Leeds to Calderdale District at Halifax for a few weeks in August/September 1986 to assist with a vehicle shortage just prior to deregulation and the formation of Yorkshire Rider. This particular one - like a number of other assorted types - had been repainted in this ghastly all-over cream (actually christened jonquil if I remember rightly) prior to the launch of the new Yorkshire Rider identity, the idea apparently being that they could quickly have the remaining dark green areas and red vinyls added ready for the launch.
Here it is seen resting in Halifax's Crossfield Bus Station preparing to tackle the 1700 journey to Bradford via Queensbury on the 576 route.
