Leeds 453, MUG453, an A.E.C. 9612E Regent III with a Roe H31/25R body is seen at the Whitkirk terminus in the Ring Road, Halton at Selby Road on the first day of the 39 service from there to Crossgates.
The main 39 service ran, from the same date, from the Central Bus Station to Whitkirk with the jourmeys from there to the tram ternminus at Cross Gates being run in the off peak, for the benefit of shoppers.
