The first bus to leave Intake on the new service to Rockingham Street Bus Station in Leeds was 354, NNW354, one of the sixty Leyland PD2/1s with Leyland H30/26R bodies delivered in 1949/50.
From Monday to Saturday the service left Intake every 30 minutes from 0645 until 2215 but on Sundays it was hourly from 1345 until 2245 and so I was able to photograph and travel on the first journey.
