Seen at the Crossgates terminus in the early evening of the last day of tram services in Leeds is 181 which had entered service on 13th June 1931.  It was one of the Horsfield trams, 155-254, built by Brush with a 37/23 body on a Peckham P.35 truck and had B.T.H B525C controllers and two B.T.H. 509 A12 motors of 50h.p.
It left Crossgates at 5.02 p.m. and was the last tram to run in Leeds in normal service, after which buses provided the rest of the Saturday service. Later the procession of ten Horsfields, carrying special guests, left Swinegate depot at 6.15 p.m. with five going to Templenewsam and five to Crossgates.
