The somewhat bleak setting of the Temple Newsam terminus of route 22, in Templenewsam Road, sees Leeds 134, one of the 150 Chamberlain cars built in 1926-1927 by Brush (1-75) and English Electric (76-150), this one having an English Electric 46/26 body on E.M.B. Pivotal trucks, and entering service on 26th April 1927, after having arrived from Whingate on the one morning journey which operated from there.
The E.M.B. Pivotal trucks had been replaced by a Peckham P.35 truck on 6th January 1949 and it last ran in service on the 3rd of March 1956, two months after this photograph was taken. Departing from Temple Newsam at 9. 30 a.m. for the Corn Exchange it would remain on route 22 (Corn Exchange to Temple Newsam) for the remainder of its day.
