Highland Omnibuses J3, ECK588, was one of six Leyland Royal Tiger PSU1/13 with Leyland B44F bodies acquired from Ribble, via Millburn Motors (dealer), Preston, between January and March 1967.
J3 had been new to Ribble in April 1952 as their 325, and was acquired by Highland in January 1967. It was changed to B42F before entering service in March 1967.
Later in 1967 it was rebuilt by Alexander, to B38F. with rear bulkhead moved forward and a box space added to the rear for the carriage of up to 24 skis. The remaining five vehicles were also rebuilt in this way during 1968. J3 was withdrawn in 1971.

There is further information about these vehicles in the thread under another of the batch, ECK584, on this site.
