Glasgow 672 was one of a batch of twenty, being the first electric trams built in the city in 1898. They were nicknamed "Room and Kitchen" cars because of their interior layout.
They were not successful and 672 was converted to a mains testing works car in 1906. When finally withdrawn in 1953, its historic significance was recognized and was stored in Dalmarnock depot before being restored to 'as built' condition (as seen). It had the distinction of being the leading electric car in the commemorative last tram procession in 1962.
