Recent postings have remarked on the condition of the Glasgow trams in their last years of operation. This view is undated and photographer unknown, was taken at Dalmuir West.
Clues of the date are; service numbers have been recently introduced, evidence by the number boards, side slip boards have been removed and the cars still have their route colours, 333 being "red" service 9 and the car behind a "blue" number 6.
This dates the picture to after May 1938 and before September 1939, when wartime additions to the livery were added. No adverts were allowed on GCT vehicles until 1950 but the dashes apparently have an unreadable poster applied, perhaps a road safety feature but not one I have come across before. Some of the tenements visible would be demolished by enemy action in 1941
