2022 sees the 60th anniversary of the demise of Glasgow's trams. "Coronation" 1203 was 21 years old when photographed at Aitken Street terminus, off Alexandra Parade.
This service was replaced on 1st November 1959 by motorbus 56. As Aitken St was a terminal stub, the replacement service was extended to Cumbernauld Rd.at Warriston St. Buses showed "Alexandra Park" . This point was already the terminus for bus 30 but was known as "North Carntyne". Passengers would have taken this in their stride!
