Seen at the Chesterfield Centenary Rally is East Midland D175, 175NVO, a Leyland (or Albion, depending on which badge you look at!) Lowlander LR7 with Alexander H41/31F bodywork.
It had recently been restored to original livery and has blinds set for the hilly route to Matlock for which these vehicles are best remembered. To the right is an unusual Bristol LHS from the Northampton fleet 21, KBD21V) which was quite new at the time.
As far as I can make out 1982 was the only year this bus was active in preservation and it seems to have disappeared from the scene and is presumably no longer in existence. It also seems therefore that 1982 was the only year in which a restored East Midland bus made an appearance anywhere and it is tragic that such an important fleet should be completely unrepresented.
