Derby Corporation

1. ... Derby 1 was built by Brush in 1903 for their 4ft gauge system. It was withdrawn from service in 1933 and the lower saloon sold for use as a summer house. It was saved for restoration in 1962 and fitted with an upper deck from parts salvaged from other trams. (Sat 15/9/18, Crich Tramway Village)
2. DY5113 ... Ransomes bodied Guy BTX trolleybus DY5113 shown in Derby service, new in 1928 to Hastings and one of six to Derby in 1942. (1942, Albert Street, Derby)
3. EVC244 ... Preserved 1940 Daimler COG5/40, EVC244, with Park Royal body newly restored. New to Coventry in April 1940, it was sold in October 1949 to to Derby where it was mostly used for driver training; it was not licensed as a PSV. (Sun 8/7/12, Aldridge Transport Museum)

5. EVC244 ... Derby 47, EVC244, was a Daimler COG5/40 with a Park Royal B38F body which had been new in April 1940 as Coventry 244. It was acquired by Derby in October 1949 and used mostly for driver training. It was not licensed as a P.S.V. whilst with Derby., and was seen outside the garage. 6. RC8472 ... With a Weymann H30/26R body, Derby 172, RC8472, was the second of a pair of Sunbeam Ws, new in 1944, this one being new in August. (Sun 14/7/63, Derby Garage, Ascot Drive)

30. ... Another picture at Autospares is this Derby Corporation trolleybus. Unidentifiable other than it appears to be one of the batch of 20 Sunbeam F4's with Willowbrook 60 seat bodywork delivered in 1952/3. (late 1970s, Autospares, Bingley)

74. JGU283K ... Derby 250, JGU283K, is ex-LT DMS1283 but looks a little different. It has had the front dome and windows replaced by what look like standard Roe parts, perhaps following a too vigorous encounter with overhanging trees (or even a low bridge). (Tue 21/4/87, St. Peters Street, Derby)
