McKechnie & Cole (Cream Bus Service), Stamford, taken over by Barton in February 1961

McKechnie & Cole (Cream Bus Service), Stamford 16, JXC167, seen in Bishops Road Bus Station in Peterborough was a Cravens H30/26R bodied A.E.C. Regent III acquired from London Transport RT1404 in May 1957. It passed to Barton, Chilwell as number 884 in February 1961 and was sold for scrap, after withdrawal, in August1967.

Another shot of JXC167 of the Cream Bus Service. As quoted in the caption to another shot on here, McKechnie & Cole (Cream Bus Service), Stamford 16, JXC167, was a Cravens H30/26R bodied A.E.C. Regent III acquired from London Transport RT1404 in May 1957.

McKechnie & Cole (Cream Bus Service), Stamford 9, KGK731, was an ex-London Transport A.E.C. Regent III with a Cravens H30/26R body which had been new as RT1472 in September 1949 and which had been acquired in February 1957.

McKechnie & Cole (Cream Bus Service), Stamford 6, ECT748, a Plaxton C33F bodied Commer Avenger new in March 1950 and seen here in Bishops Road Bus Station in Peterborough still displays the name of W.H. Patch in the destination glass.

McKechnie & Cole (Cream Bus Service), Stamford 12, KAB283, a Bedford SB which had a Duple C33F body had been new in July 1951 and is seen here at Bishop's Road Bus Station, Peterborough. Along with the other twenty buses in the fleet it passed to Barton Transport in February 1961 becoming number 889.

McKechnie & Cole (Cream Bus Service), Stamford 10, FTL439, seen here in Bishops Road Bus Station in Peterborough was a Bedford SB with a Duple C33F body new in January 1952. In February 1961 it passed to Barton, Chilwell as number 888 and was withdrawn in 1963 after which it passed to Leonard Cheshire Home, West Bridgford as a non-P.S.V.

McKechnie & Cole (Cream Bus Service), Stamford 3, GTL419, was a Bedford SB with a Yeates C35F body which had been new in May 1953 to Patch & McKechnie.

McKechnie & Cole (Cream Bus Service), Stamford 7, HTL78, was a Bedford SBG with a Duple C36F body new in April 1954 and is seen here at Bishop's Road Bus Station, Peterborough. It was one of twenty-one buses which passed with the business to Barton Transport in February 1961 and was numbered 893.

13. CEC963
McKechnie & Cole (Cream Bus Service), Stamford 17, CEC963, was a Plaxton Venturer III C36F bodied Bedford SBG new in March 1955 to Mallinson, Windermere. It was acquired in January 1958 and later passed to Barton, Chilwell as number 894 before being withdrawn in 1964 after which it passed to Padley, Anwick as a non-P.S.V. In 1965.

McKechnie & Cole (Cream Bus Service), Stamford 14, RAB839, was a Bedford SBG with a Duple C41F body which had been new to Johnson, Stourbridge in May 1956. It had been acquired in October 1958 and passed to Barton, Chilwell as number 896 in February 1961 and, following withdrawal in 1967, to Gimson & Slater, Long Eaton as a non-P.S.V. in April 1968.

McKechnie & Cole (Cream Bus Service), Stamford 13, UPT368, a Bedford SBG with a Yeates Riviera C41F body new to Harwood (Favourite Number 2 Services), Bishop Auckland in June 1956 was acquired in November 1958 and passed to Barton, Chilwell as number 898 in February 1961. It was withdrawn in 1967 and passed, in February 1969, to Burrows (contractor), Ilkeston.
