FGM170, Central SMT B170, photographed at Airdrie alongside a Western Lowlander, one of several pictures unearthed amongst a slide collection donated to G V V T.
The 1963 Bristol had a FSF6G chassis with 60 seat ECW body. Western had a service to Airdrie where these two operators met. The apparatus "on the roof" could well be a forerunner for charging electric buses of the 2020s!
This view gives a good comparison on the different entrance details of these forward entrance vehicles.
