Cumberland Motor Services had an all Leyland fleet until the end of the second world war when Bristols gradually took over. 291, BRM596, is a 1936 Leyland Titan TD4 which in 1948 received a new ECW body similar to that fitted to a number of Leyland Titan PD1s at that time. Indeed the only clue to the real age of the bus is the short pre-war radiator.
