Barton, Chilwell 816, BRM596, which had been acquired from Cumberland, Whitehaven in May 1959, was a Leyland TD4 which, when new in October 1936, had a Massey L27/26R body, and was numbered 132.
It had been rebodied in 1950 with the Eastern Coachworks L27/28R body, seen here, and had been renumbered 291. It is seen at Barton's Chilwell Garage.
Withdrawn in January 1965, it passed to E. Farnsworth, Nottingham in May 1965 for preservation; to J. Horrocks, Northampton in 1973 for preservation; N. Coy (East Pennine Transport Group), Dewsbury in July 1978 for preservation; to J. Sunderland, Keighley by November 1992 until December 1996 (on loan), and to J. Beeby, Huddersfield by August 2004 for preservation.
