Barton Transport, Chilwell 860, 280SMG, was a Duple Britannia C41F (later C43F) bodied AEC Reliance 2MU3RV which had been new in January 1959 to EA & ER Webber (Empire's Best), London N22, in which fleet it was numbered 28.
In June 1960 the Webber business was acquired by Charles W Banfield Ltd, London SE15 and, although this vehicle passed to Banfield it was probably not operated and it passed initially to Arlington (dealer), Potters Bar in the same month and then to Barton in the July. It was withdrawn in October 1973 and passed to Arlington (dealer), Cardiff in January 1974. In March 1974 it was acquired (but not operated) by AB Smith (Smiths of Newport), and then passed to Mrs AV Gregory, Blaencwm by June 1974 and to Jones (Jones Motors), Ynysbwl in August 1974. It was withdrawn by August 1976.
