Blackpool 275 (now 675) started life in 1935 as an English Electric railcoach. In 1958 it was rebuilt as a trailer to run behind similarly rebuilt but motorised 276. This became the prototype "Progress Twin Car".
In 1960, ten new trailers were bought from Metro-Cammell and, in 1962, 275 was re-built as a motored tram and permanently coupled to trailer T5 (as seen).
