Burton & Ashby tram 14 has been in service in August at Statfold Barn Railway with the delayed enthusiasts day from March, now spread over two days to reduce numbers and with social distancing, hand hygiene and face coverings for people travelling on the tram and trains.

Burton received ten Guy Arab IIs (5LW), in 1944 with bodies by both Park Royal (six) and Weymann (four). 24, FA7959, was one of those which had Weymann H30/26R bodies, and was new in March 1944.

Burton 39, FA8424, a Guy Arab with Brush B35F body, new in November 1946, later to Stevensons, Uttoxeter.

Photographed at the Spath, Uttoxeter garage, Stevenson, Spath 7, FA8424, was a Guy Arab III with a Brush B34F body new in 1946 as Burton 39, which had been acquired in April 1954.

Seen at the garage is Burton 64, FA9292, the last of four Guy Arab IIIs with Guy B35R bodies and 5LW engines new in 1948/9 which had special low height bodies to negotiate Moor Street bridge.

Burton Corporation 63, FA9291, a 1949 Guy B35R bodied Guy Arab III 5LW at the 1971 St. Leger Rally in Doncaster. This was about the time it was withdrawn by Burton and as far as I can find out it was bought with a view to preservation but only the chassis had survived by 2001 when that was scrapped.

Burton 63, FA9291, seen in the Gynn Square car park in Blackpool was a Guy Arab III with a Guy B35R body, one of four new in 1949.

FA9716 is former Burton 16, a Guy Arab III with H33/28R Massey body, now part of the Roger Burdett collection and seen undergoing extensive renovation.

Here's an updated shot of FA9716 - one day after it has been repainted, and on it's way to Roger Burdett's site for final work including crests, fleet numbers and maybe adverts. It has had a lot of mechanical work done to it and does look very nice.

Burton received three Guy Arab IVs (5LW) with Massey H33/28R bodies and 5LW engines in January 1959, and 75, HFA575, seen at the garage, was the last of the trio and, after withdrawal in February 1972, passed to Tiger (dealer), Salsburgh in May.

Burton joined the trend to saloons in the late sixties when they bought Daimler Fleetline SRG6LW chassis, although later deliveries would revert to double deckers. Single deck Fleetline 103, MFA703G, carries Willowbrook bodywork and dates from 1969.
