1st Woodmansterne Scout Troop NLP650 is seen approaching the Cub and Scout Rally at Gilwell Park. This was an A.E.C. 9822E Regal IV with a Park Royal RDP37C body, which had been new in October 1953 as British European Airways 1039.
It had been withdrawn by B.E.A. in 1967, passing to Bird’s Commercial Motors Ltd., (dealer), Stratford-on-Avon in September 1967. It then passed to G.E. Hayward (George’s Coaches), Leamington, also in September 1967. After withdrawal in March 1970 it was noted with an unidentified owner in Northamptonshire in 1970. It then passed to 1st Woodmansterne (St. Peters) Scout Group, Woodmansterne by October 1971, and is recorded as still being in use in November 1979.
