Birmingham City Transport 2259, JOJ259, was one of nine Leyland PS2/1 with Weymann B34F bodies which were loaned to Potteries Motor Transport Co for varying periods between June 1969 and June 1970.
They were part of a batch of 30 which had been new in 1950, the last of which had been withdrawn from service in Birmingham on 31 May 1969.
Although not operational in Birmingham, they were still owned by them until 1 October 1969 when ownership changed to West Midlands PTE.
In the case of 2259, it later passed to Wombwell Diesels Co Ltd (dealer), Wombwell, in June 1971 and to H Cowley (dealer), Blackpool, for scrap, by March 1972.
