1. WG8131 ... Alexander's (Fife) L5, WG8131, was a Leyland TS8, new in 1939, which originally carried Alexander C35F bodywork and was numbered P552 in the fleet of W Alexander & Sons.

2. AMS149 ... On a wet day at Dunfermline, Alexander Fife FRO477, AMS149, a Northern Counties H30/26R bodied Guy Arab II leaves for Lochgelly. It had been new in July 1944 as Alexander RO477 and was not withdrawn until June 1968.

3. AMS162 ... Alexander (Fife) FRO490, AMS162, a Guy Arab II with a Northern Counties H30/26R body was new in August 1944 to Alexander, Falkirk, as RO490, passing to Alexander (Fife) in May 1961 and was withdrawn in 1966.

4. AMS231 ... New to Alexander, Falkirk, AMS231 was numbered RO516 and was a Guy Arab II with a Northern Counties H30/26R body new in November 1944.

5. AMS234 ... AMS234 was new as Alexander, Falkirk RO519 in November 1944. It was a Guy Arab II with a Northern Counties H30/26R body and passed to Alexander (Fife) in May 1961 as FRO519, being withdrawn in 1967.

6. AWG372 ... To compliment the view of preserved RO607, I photographed FRO586, AWG372, at Kelty Garage sporting the red and cream Fife livery, on the occasion of an official visit to Alexander Fife garages by the Omnibus Society.

7. AWG377 ... When W Alexander & Sons was split in 1961 a batch of 25 Guy Arab IIIs with Cravens H30/26R bodywork dating from 1948 came to the Alexander's (Fife) company where they achieved another 8-9 years of service. FRO591, AWG377, was one of these and had originally been numbered RO591 until the split.

8. AWG384 ... Alexander's (Fife) L7, AWG384, started life as W Alexander & Sons RO598, a 1948 Guy Arab III with Cravens H30/26R bodywork. Transferred to Fife at the time of the split, it became FRO598. In December 1964 it was converted to a tow wagon at Gallatown Works and based thereafter at Dunfermline depot.

9. AWG384 ... Alexander (Fife), Kirkcaldy L7, AWG384, was the service vehicle allocated to Dunfermline, but was seen at the garage in Kelty, and was a Guy Arab III which originally had a Cravens H30/26R body.

10. DMS830 ... Alexander's (Fife) FPB17, DMS830, was one of the 20 Leyland OPS2/1s of 1948 with Alexander C35F bodywork which were rebuilt as conventional PS1s in 1960.

11. CCS407 ... Fife FRB163, CCS407, was a Leyland PD1 built 1950 and re-bodied by ECW in 1952 L27/26R and originally Western SMT D509. Seen here at Fife's Lochgelly Garage on the occasion of an Omnibus Society visit.

14. DMS502 ... Seen at the garage in Dunfermline is Alexander (Fife), Kirkcaldy FRB142, DMS502, which was a Leyland PD2/3 with an Alexander L27/26R body.

15. DMS820 ... Alexander (Fife), Kirkcaldy FPB7, DMS820, a Leyland OPS2/1 Tiger had an Alexander C35F body and was seen at the garage in Lochgelly.

16. DMS831 ... In 1948 W Alexander & Sons acquired 20 Leyland OPS2/1 chassis which comprised an order for New Zealand which had been cancelled. Consideration was given to bodying them as double-deck coaches but in 1951 they were finally bodied as C35F. All but three of the batch were rebuilt as standard PS1s in 1960 using parts from withdrawn PS1s and ten of the original batch came to Fife at the split. FPB18, DMS831, was one of these and was withdrawn in 1970 and scrapped by Muir's. It had been PB18 prior to its transfer to Fife.

19. DWG917 ... A rear view of two preserved Leyland Titan PD2s. On the left is former W. Alexander RB161, DWG917, a PD2/12 with Alexander L27/26R body, new in 1953. On the right, former Ashton-under-Lyne Corporation 39, DTJ139B, a PD2/40 with Roe H37/28R body, new in 1964.

20. EMS167 ... Seen at the garage in Kelty was Alexander (Fife), Kirkcaldy FPC49, EMS167, had an Alexander C41C body on its Leyland PSU1/15 Royal Tiger chassis. It had been new in April 1953 as Alexander PC49 becoming Alexander (Fife) FPC49 in May 1961, although the F prefix was not applied until 1962.

22. GMS418 ... Alexander (Fife), Kirkcaldy FGA8, GMS418, seen at the garage in Dunfermline, was a Guy Arab LUF (6HLW) with an Alexander C41F body. It had been new in April 1955 as Alexander GA8 becoming Alexander (Fife) FGA8 in May 1961, although the F prefix was not applied until 1962.

23. GWG293 ... Alexander (Fife), Kirkcaldy FPD67, GWG293, was a Leyland PSUC1/2 Tiger Cub with an Alexander B45F body and was seen in Paisley.

24. GWG978 ... GWG978, originally RD2 in the Alexander Fleet, and now FRD2 in the Alexander (Fife) company, a 1956 Bristol LD6G is at Dunfermline Bus Station with the famous Abbey as a backdrop, straight out the paint shop, the bus that is!

25. KMS478 ... Seen at the garage in Dunfermline was Alexander (Fife), Kirkcaldy FPD109, KMS478, a Leyland PSUC1/2 Tiger Cub with an Alexander C41F body. It had been new in March 1958 as Alexander PD109 becoming Alexander (Fife) FPD109 in May 1961, although the F prefix was not applied until 1962.

26. KWG585 ... Alexander (Fife), Kirkcaldy FNL10, KWG585, seen at the garage in Lochgelly, was an Albion MR11L Aberdonian with an Alexander C41F body. It had been new in June 1958 as Alexander NL10 becoming Alexander (Fife) FNL10 in May 1961, although the F prefix was not applied until 1962.

27. MWG362 ... Alexander's (Fife) FPD147, MWG362, of St Andrews depot was a Leyland PSUC1/2 with Alexander C41F bodywork which had been new to Walter Alexander & Sons in 1959 as their PD147.

30. RMS714 ... New to Alexander in 1961, this Alexander bodied Leyland Tiger Cub was FPD225, RMS714, in the Fife fleet being one of the first buses delivered to them after the origianl Alexander company was split into three the same year. It is seen at the 2013 Kirkby Stephen rally

47. DXA411C ... Between 1965 and 1969 Alexander's (Fife) took delivery of 48 Albion Vikings which were spread amongst the company's depots. By contrast Midland took 75 during the same period and Northern 88 between 1965 and 1970, to which they added a further 6 coaches transferred from Eastern Scottish in 1972. FNV11, DXA411C, was an Albion VK43L with Alexander C40F bodywork which had been new in 1965.

50. HXA400E ... Seen having received Eastern Scottish green colours is former Central SMT Bristol FSF ECW H60F B130, DGM430, renumbered as Eastern Scottish AA430A. Seen inside the New Street depot, Edinburgh. The depth of the vehicle shortage affecting Eastern Scottish at the time is emphasised by the vehicles flanking it. Edinburgh Corportion 658, ASC658B, an Alexander bodied Leyland PD3 is on the left whilst on the right is Fife Scottish FRD200, HXA400E, a 1967 Bristol FLF.

51. HXA402E ... The final batch of 18 Lodekkas (FRD200-FRD217) purchased by Alexander's (Fife) were FLF6Gs built to the extended 31'6" length; they were also the last Lodekkas for any of the Scottish Bus Group companies. FRD202, HXA402E, was a Bristol FLF6G with ECW H44/32F bodywork which was new in May 1967.
