HCN551 was a Bedford D4LZ1 with Plaxton C29F bodywork which had been new to Thirlwell, Gateshead in 1958, passing to Bell’s of Stamfordham in February 1965.
It is seen with Armstrong’s of Westerhope who acquired it in January 1968.
Withdrawn in 1971, it passed in turn to Jopling, Birtley in 7/71, Gruffery, Horden 9/72,Donaldson, Laurieston 9/73 and Selvey, Kincardine 2/75.
It is seen in an unusually quiet Wentworth Car Park at Hexham.
