Leyland/Beadle rebuilds

1. GFN273
East Kent GFN273 was built as a double deck Leyland TD5 in 1938 and was rebodied by Beadle in 1952. It was withdrawn in 1967 and passed into preservation in 1972.

Lloyds of Nuneaton PEH479 seen outside their Rugby depot in 1962, a Leyland TS8 Beadle rebuild from 1951 and former PMT C479 that was with Lloyds from July 1958 and was withdrawn in May 1962.

East Kent GFN279, one of the twenty five 1952 Beadle-Leyland rebuilds with C35F body alongside 1957 AEC Reliance NFN335 with Beadle DP41F body at Victoria Coach Station.

New in 1952, Yorkshire Woollen District, Dewsbury 747, HD9354, was a Beadle-Leyland rebuild and the body was C35F.  It is seen in Chester Street, Bradford.

5. LCD852
Southdown 852, LCD852, was one of twenty Leyland/Beadle rebuilds new in 1952 with Beadle C35C bodies which is seen on South Parade, Southsea. They were rebuilt from Leyland TS8s dating from 1938.

Maidstone & District CO252, OKP980, a 1952 Beadle-Leyland rebuilt using parts from prewar Leyland chassis. This vehicle is now preserved by Thornes of Bubwith

10. MUF491
Southdown 891, MUF491, was one of eight Leyland/Beadle rebuilds in 1953. It had a Beadle C26F body and had been reconstructed using a 1938 Leyland TS8 chassis. It is seen on South Parade, Southsea.

Southdown 891, MUF491, was a 1953 Beadle rebuild using 1938-39 Leyland TS8 running units. There were 30 of these new in 1953-54.

NCD94 was a Leyland-Beadle chassisless FC26F, new in 1953 to Southdown Motor Services, no. 894.

Scout, Hastings CO302, SKE998, seen at Epsom racecourse was one of three Beadle-Leyland rebuilds new in 1954. CO301/2 were in Scout livery whilst CO303 was in standard Maidstone & District livery, They were reconstructions using units from SO540/2/1, (DKL 587/9/8 - 1936 Leyland TS7s) respectively and had Beadle C26F bodies.
