Karrier Bus Chassis Index

This must count as one of the most unusual vehicles to be found in a Municipal bus fleet. Coventry City Transport KRW531F was actually one of six similar vehicles in the fleet which were bought to expand the special schools services taken over by the undertaking from other departments of the Corporation.
The buses were Commer badged versions of the Karrier BFD3023, more usually fitted with small coach bodies, with Reading and Plaxton bodied ones being the most familiar. The Coventry bodied ones had B12F bodies built by Walker (no relation). In this June 1973 view, it was in Pool Meadow Bus Station but I am not sure whether it was in service or being used as a staff runabout.
