1. RR3316
On an enthusiasts visit to South Notts depot at Gotham in May 1981, this remarkable survivor was found amongst many retired buses dotted around the site. It is reported to be the chassis of fleet number 1 RR3316 a 1926 Guy BA originally with 20 seat bodywork used to inaugurate the first service.

Pride of place at the Kingsbridge Running Day must go to GWR 1268 YF714, a 1927 Guy/Vickers. This has just emerged from a lengthy restoration and has been at various events in connection with the 110th Anniversary of the first GWR bus service earlier this year. It was not operating, but was on display throughout the day at Kingsbridge Bus Station.

YF714 is a 1927 Guy FBB with Vickers B35R body. It operated around Penzance in the late 1920s and is the sole survivor of the fleet having spent some 40 years as a caravan near Perranporth after withdrawal from service in 1931.

Llandudno UDC was one of the countries smallest muncipal fleets and was famous for buying small Guy chassis both before and after the second World War. JC5313, dating from 1938, is a normal control Guy Wolf with 20 seat bodywork by Waveney.

Guernsey Railways 14 (506), a Vixen new in 1947 with Duple B35F body and withdrawn in 1964. GR had 10 of these buses (one of which served initially in the Guernsey Motors fleet). Some of these lasted until 1967 but, although several ended their days in Priaulx' scrapyard, by 1978 only this and a Victor remained there.

Highland K46, DST929, a Guy Arab III single decker with Strachans B34F body, one of seven such vehicles delivered between August 1948 and May 1950 to the Highland Transport Company Limited. It was delivered with fleet number 46, becoming K46 when Highland Omnibuses Ltd. was formed in February 1952.

Hulley, Baslow ran LHN574, a Burlingham B35F bodied Guy Arab III, numbered 27 on his service into Chesterfield. It was acquired from Durham District Services DG74 in May 1959 and had been new to Darlington Triumph in 1949 with fleet number 074.

Samuel Ledgard GUY3, a Guy Arab UF with Guy B40F body (using Park Royal framework) built in 1950 as a demonstrator. It was famous for being the prototype underfloor-engined Guy and was exhibited at the 1950 Earls Court Show. It was first sold to Kitchin & Son, Pudsey and passed to Ledgard in 1957 when they took over Kitchin's stage carriage services.

Green Bus Company, Rugeley 17, LPT140, was a Guy Arab III fitted with a Brush B38F which had been new in 1950 to Northern General as number 1340. It was acquired by Green Bus Company in October 1962 and was one of four acquired at that time following eight which had been acquired in 1959/60. It is at the Rugeley garage of Green Bus.

One of two Guy Vixen Specials acquired from London Transport Executive in 1961, West Bromwich MXX340, is seen inside the garage at Oak Lane. This one had run for the Corporation Health Department as number 49 from 1961 before joining the bus fleet as number 252 in 1963.

Samuel Ledgard GUY3, an ex-Guy demonstrator, was a Guy Arab UF fitted from new with a preselector gearbox and carried a Guy B40F body. New in 1951 it arrived with Ledgard in 1957 when the stage service of Kitchin, Pudsey was taken over in April.

Cumbria Classic Coaches run a fleet of vintage buses on excursions in the nothern Yorkshire Dales. One of their current fleet is is this former Lancashire United Guy Arab III with rare Roe coach body dating from 1951 and originally 440, MTJ84, in the LUT fleet.

Cumbria Classic Coaches operate former LUT440, MTJ84, a Guy Arab III with Roe C31F bodywork which was new in May 1951. Apparently it was originally tested for 35 seated passengers with 25 standing! Originally in crimson and black, it is now in crimson and cream. The coach was purchased by Cumbria Classic Coaches in October 2002 and has appeared on 'Heartbeat' and 'Born and Bred'.

Marshalls Coaches of Bradford, PEH261, was an immaculate Guy Arab III with a Windover C33F body, built in 1951 for Scraggs of Cheadle, Staffordshire. In 1952 it passed to Ripponden & District (who were also well-respected hauliers for the Lancashire and Yorkshire textile industries) and joined Marshalls in 1953.

In 1962 Dr. H.N. Heffernan started a business in West Kingsdown, Sevenoaks using a Commer LB with a Kenex 12 seat body on two routes (1) Sevenoaks - Gravesend (Weekdays) and (2) Southfleet - Meopham (Sunday). A limited company, Thames Weald Limited, was formed in 1964 and MXX323 which had been acquired in February 1965 is seen at Ascot racecourse. It was a Guy Vixen special with an Eastern Coachworks B26F body new in 1953 as London Transport GS23.

Seen at Ayr Bus Station is FSD468, Western S.M.T. 1090, which was a Guy Arab LUF with an Alexander C30FT body used on the London service when new in 1954. It was, along with the others in the batch, 1086-1095, rebuilt in 1960 to C41F and was, along with them, withdrawn in 1968 passing to Highland Omnibuses, Inverness.

The first new vehicles bought after Neath & Cardiff went under BET control comprised this batch of six Guy Arab LUF chassis with Park Royal C41C bodies. They had 6HLW engines and six-speed gearboxes and were well-suited to Neath & Cardiff's operations. KCY492 was first registered on 4th June 1954 and as well as the six in this 1954 batch (KCY 488-493) another six followed in 1955 (LCY 778-783).

Seen in Barnsley bus station is UWW769, a Guy Warrior 4HDC with a Mulliner DP43F body belonging to Mosley, Barugh Green. New in December 1957 to Morgan (Blue Line), Armthorpe it was acquired by Mosley in July 1961. Withdrawn in 1964 it passed to Spiers, Henley in February 1965 and to Sureline, Lurgan in June 1966. It then passed to Coalisland Gaelic Football Club, Coalisland in April 1970.
