With a view to converting further services to OMO, Highland Omnibuses took delivery of two Ford R192s with Duple Midland B45F bodies in May 1968, to be followed by two more in the September of the same year. One of the earlier pair, T18, HST49F, is seen at Fort William Bus Station wearing a new (short-lived) version of the livery introduced that year but replaced in 1970 by peacock blue and poppy red. All four lasted until 1981.
The entrance to the former railway station is visible in the background. All this area was demolished (and the station re-sited) in 1975 to make way for the new A82 by-pass, leaving the pier (out of shot to the left) somewhat isolated from the rest of the town.
