Leon, Finningley 34, FRW587, seen in Glasgow Paddocks, Doncaster, was a Daimler prototype leading to the post-war CVD6 range and was designated TV45.2 with chassis number 12580 and had a Willowbrook B35F body (6001) new in 1946.

Seen at Marlborough Crescent Bus Station, Venture, Consett 111, FUP393, was a Willowbrook B35F bodied Daimler CVD6 new in 1946.

3. DUX655
DUX655 is a 1947 Daimler CVD6 originally equipped with ACB 35F half-cab bodywork. It was barely two years old when rebodied with this elegant fully-fronted design by Metalcraft FC33F. Withdrawn from use in August 1966, the vehicle has been preserved in its original “Smith’s Eagle” livery by a group of enthusiasts.

Venture, Consett 136, GPT964, was from the second batch of Daimler CVD6s with Willowbrook B35F bodies and was one of twenty new in 1947.

Seen in Glasgow Paddocks Bus Station in Doncaster is HTE459, a Daimler CVD6 with a Plaxton C33F body which had been new in July 1947 to Robinson, Great Harwood. In November 1948 it passed to Leon, Finningley, with whom it is seen here, as number 15.

Seen at Epsom Racecourse was JNA244, a Daimler CVD6 with a Harrington C33F body which had been new in November 1947 to Sharp, Manchester. By the time of this photograph it was in use by Goldhanger Fruit Farms.

Alexander, Falkirk D6, BMS401, a Daimler CVD6 with a Burlingham C33F body, was one of twenty-nine, D2 - D30, new in March 1948, D1 having been delivered in May of the previous year.

Preserved Alexander Northern, Aberdeen ND10, BMS405, a Daimler CVD6 with a Burlingham C33F body was seen arriving at the Hillingdon Rally in the older blue/cream livery of Alexander.

11. BMS415
Alexander bought a small batch of Daimler CVD6 coaches with Burlingham bodies in 1948. When the Alexander company was split in the early sixties, this one went to Alexander Northern. It is preserved in their attractive cream and yellow livery ND20, BMS415.

Seen at Stonehaven was Alexander (Northern), Aberdeen ND20, BMS415, a Daimler CVD6 with a Burlingham C33F body. It had been new in August 1948 as Alexander D20 becoming Alexander (Northern) ND20 in May 1961, although the N prefix was not applied until 1962.

Alexander Midland D25, BMS420, seen at Falkirk was a Burlingham C33F bodied Daimler CVD6SD new in 1948, which was sold in October 1965.

Aberdeen 14, CRS834, was a Daimler CVD6 with a Walker B34R body new in 1948. In 1956 it was rebuilt to B31F for one man operation and in 1963 further rebuilt to DP31F. Renumbered to 44 in March 1967 it was again rebuilt in 1968 to DP29F plus invalid chairs and was seen in this form at King Street Garage. It passed to McLennan, Spittalfield in October 1971.

Worth, Enstone CUD373, a Daimler CVD6 with Wilks & Meade C33F body was new to him in January 1948 and, after withdrawal in December 1960 was sold to P.V.D. (Dealer), Dunchurch. Alongside is Jarvis, Middle Barton CTL652, a Dennis Lancet III with a Yeates C35F body dating from February 1948 which had been acquired from Judd, Byfield in December 1957.

Cooper, South Kirkby traded as part of United Services, and HWT48, a Daimler CVD6 with a Burlingham B35F body, which had been new in November 1948 to Kitchin, Pudsey, and which was acquired in January 1951, is seen in the bus station at Marsh Gate, Doncaster on the service from Wakefield, to where it is waiting to depart.

Venture bought sixty Daimler CVD6 buses with Willowbrook B35F bodies between 1946 and 1948. JPT551, number 163, was one of the last ten to be delivered and had by the time of this photograph been fitted with a two piece door and modified cab for one man operation.

Porto 23, CL-15-08, was a right-hand drive Daimler CVD6 with a locally-made body (details requested please), dating from 1949. Like, Lisbon, Porto had a British influence (including trolleybuses). Here it is seen at their fine Tram Museum adjacent to Massarelos depot.

The two preserved Exeter Daimler CVD6s with Weymann B35F bodies were together at the G & W Railway running day. There was a formal photo shoot in the morning and this more relaxed one in the afternoon where passengers were allowed to also take their pictures. JFJ873 was one of the first 3 built in 1949 whereas JFJ875 was built as part of the second batch of three in 1950.

West Riding 341, CHL771, was a Daimler CVD6 with Willowbrook B35F body delivered to J Bullock and Sons in 1950 just four months before the takeover by West Riding.

West Riding Autos 342, CHL772, was one of two Daimler CVD6's with Willowbrook B35F body bought by Bullock & Sons in 1950. It was the last bus to be registered by them, just four months before they were taken over by West Riding. Like its sister (341) it had bus seating, but 342 maintained this coach livery.

The last new vehicle to enter the fleet of Bullock, Featherstone was 342, CHL772, a Daimler CVD6 with a Willowbrook DP35F body, new in May 1950. Along with the other Bullock vehicles it passed to West Riding, Wakefield in September 1950 and is seen here in the yard at Featherstone garage.

Morley, Whittleseea JTD830 was a Trans United C33F bodied Daimler CVD6 seen at Bishop's Road Bus Station, Peterborough. It had been acquired in December 1956 from Forder, Bingley and it passed to Webster, Pattishall in July 1959.

One of S.H.M.D.'s single-decker Northern Counties bodied Daimlers, 57, MMA57, parked in Hamnett Street, Hyde next to the store building that once housed the town's Woolworth's store. Until a bus station was built in the early '60s, this street allowed buses to enter the town's central market area or to leave it (as with this service to 'Walker Fold') for the suburbs.

Lancaster City Council 466, NTF466, a Daimler CVG6 / Northern Counties B35F. This bus probably needs no introduction, known locally as the "prison bus" and subsequently preserved by LCT. At one time it ran in blue livery, whether before or after this shot to be clarified.
