This is the end result of what started life as a Maudslay SF40 and a Daimler CWA6. The chassis is that of HGF948, a Daimler CWA6 new as London Transport D271 in October 1946 with a Park Royal H30/26R body. Acquired from London Transport by Ledgard, Armley, along with another twenty-two, it was immediately rebodied by Rhodes of Bingley with the Brush C36C body from Ledgard's Maudslay SF40, CUB1 new in October 1935 and the resultant combination entered service in April 1954.
It was withdrawn, following an accident, some three months after this photograph was taken at the Fairway Hotel, Foundry Approach having just emerged from Oak Tree Drive in east Leeds.
