The Leeds ‘See Your City Tours’ were always popular and on a holiday Monday a line up of buses wait to move to the loading bay on Platform ‘F’ in the Central Bus Station. The line up is headed by 517, JUM572, a Daimler CWD6 with a Roe H31/25R body, which entered service on 20th July 1946.
It had been fitted with an A.E.C. 7.7 litre engine in March 1956 and was withdrawn on 30th September 1957, passing to North (dealer), Leeds in November.
Whilst the double-deckers used on the tours were popular with the public, they were not so with the loading Inspectors who had great difficulty in persuading passengers to travel in the lower saloon.
