Bedford OB/Duple C29F MYB33 was new in 1950 to Safeway Services, South Petherton, Somerset. Delivered in October of that year it must have been one of the last OB's built, at least with a coach body.
MYB 33 served Safeway for no less than 24 years and is now preserved in the livery of Sun Stream, Moulton. Safeway Services was co-owned by Mr Vernon Gunn and his formidable, but well respected sister Veronica. Vera, as she was known to her friends took on the might of the likes of Southern National in the traffic courts during the 1970's and won! She also appeared in a TV debate about public transport with no less than Barbara Castle MP, arguing the corner for the rural independent operator.
