HTP326, an Austin K8, owned at the time by one of the Liverpool-based contingent of the Mersey & Calder Bus Preservation Group, it is seen receiving some attention outside their pigeon-infested warehouse at Wapping Dock. The livery was an entirely fictitious one.
This area has all now been redeveloped as part of Liverpool's Dockland tourist attraction. I have no further information about the vehicle, knowing none of its previous history. I presume that its body was by Reading, but am open to correction. Following a brake failure incident in North Wales whilst out on a Society jaunt (having only a couple of hours previously taken it up and back down the Great Orme in Llandudno) the K8 seemed to fall suddenly out of favour, and I believe it soon left the collection, unloved. I do not know if it survived. I can however say that from my own experience of riding in it, that it may have looked cute, but really was pretty awful !
