HYG972 was the first of a pair of chassisless Morris-Beadles new to West Yorkshire Road Car in late 1949. This example was numbered 618, new to Harrogate depot and was renumbered SM1 in April 1954.
Withdrawn on 31 July 1956 it was converted to a depot van, numbered 1023 and allocated to Leeds depot. In this view it is on a WYIS trip on a country lane near Bramham in May 1954, hence 996 (BWT791), a 1937 Bristol JO5G/ECW B32F, in front.
