1. FW4875
Another impressive beast in the Mid Wales Motorways fleet, FW4875, was a Dennis Lancet (don't you just love that 'coffin' radiator?) which had been new to Daisy Bus Service, Broughton, Lincs in 5/34. It passed to the Ministry of War Transport by 1943 and Mid Wales got their hands on it in 1945.

Brown, Markfield JU7854 new in 1936 with a Willowbrook DP39F body was a Dennis Lancet II which was rebodied in 1955 with a Yeates Riviera FC37F body as seen here at Ascot.

Canham, Whittlesea NKD330 seen at Peterborough started life in 1938 as Bristol Omnibus Company 2099, EHW449 with a Duple C32R body. In September 1939 it, along with others from the batch, was converted for use as a civil ambulance and in June 1941 it was loaned to the War Department for use as an ambulance, returning in November 1946 and was withdrawn in 1951. In 1952 the chassis was rebuilt by Yeates to 30' length, numbered WSY/O6622899/189, and fitted with a Yeates FC37F body for McShane, Liverpool entering service in September 1952.

Brown's Blue, Markfield EAY58, a Dennis Lancet III, had been new to Brown in May 1947 with a Yeates C35F body. In October 1959 it was rebodied with the Yeates Riviera FC37F body from Dennis Lancet AAY6 which itself had been rebodied in April 1955 and withdrawn in September 1959.

Worth, Enstone CUD373, a Daimler CVD6 with Wilks & Meade C33F body was new to him in January 1948 and, after withdrawal in December 1960 was sold to P.V.D. (Dealer), Dunchurch. Alongside is Jarvis, Middle Barton CTL652, a Dennis Lancet III with a Yeates C35F body dating from February 1948 which had been acquired from Judd, Byfield in December 1957.

Smith, Reading acquired ENT709 in June 1957 from Lowe & Son, Trench. It was a Dennis J3 Lancet III with a Yeates C35F body which had been new in 1948 to Lowe.

Ribblesdale, Blackburn 23, BCB163, was as A.E.C. O962 Regal III with a Transun C33F body new in January 1948. It was rebodied in May 1952 with a Burlingham FC37F body, renumbered 48, and withdrawn in January 1960, passing to Lloyd, Nuneaton in March 1962.

FUT323 was an AEC Regal III with Yeates C35F body and delivered to Brown Brothers, Sapcote in December 1949.

HNT886 was a Dennis L6 Falcon with a Yeates C33F body seen at Ascot with Blue Bus, Slough. It was new in 1951 to Jones, Market Drayton and was acquired from Soul, Chessington in May 1959. Blue Bus ran a daily service from Windsor to Maidenhead.

This A.E.C. 9822S Regal IV, PAH800, with a Yeates Riviera C41C body was new to Culling, Claxton in November 1953. Flashing trafficators seem to have replaced the semaphore arms by the time it was seen at Ascot Races.

Barton 948, 948MRR, was an AEC Reliance 2U3RA, delivered in July 1962 with Yeates DP57D bodywork which was subsequently converted to C51F bodywork. It later became a stock car transporter in the Manchester area. It is seen parked opposite Ilkeston garage.

On the left is Barton Transport 904, 904LRR, whose chassis was reconstructed from that of HD7836. This had been a Leyland Titan PD2/1 with Brush H30/26R body new to Yorkshire Woollen District (553) in 1948, withdrawn in 1960, and passing to Barton with three others via the dealer Frank Cowley.
