The business of Severn, Dunscroft had been acquired by South Yorkshire P.T.E. on 30th March 1979, but the vehicles continued to be licensed to Severn until they ceased operation on 24th August 1980. Thus 1156, BWW 654B, at the time of this photograph continued to be licensed to Severn and was still in Severn livery.
It was a Leyland PD3/4, new in July 1964, with a Roe H41/31F body, and was withdrawn in June 1980, passing to the Miscellaneous fleet in January 1983, as recovery vehicle M16.
