Portsmouth Aviation Body Index

CHR485 was a Leyland Tiger TS8 with Harrington C32R body, new in 1940 to Wilts & Dorset (186). I believe it was rebodied (or maybe the Harrington body heavily rebuilt) by Portsmouth Aviation after the war.
A subsequent owner converted it into a mobile caravan and it is pictured in this form whilst taking part in the 1971 Trans Pennine Run. It later passed to Norman Myers (dealer) who sold it on to Phil Clark for preservation, but the work and expense required proved to be too much and it passed to Lister (dealer), Bolton, then to the South Lancashire Transport Society. The body was scrapped and the chassis later used to provide parts for the restoration of a Ribble Tiger.
