BSD559C and BSD560C were a pair of AEC Reliance 2U3RA with Duple (Northern) Continental C45F bodies new in April 1965 to Dodds Coaches of Troon.
They were in this two-tone grey livery when new and had reduced seating for Global Tours work in Ireland, although they were later upseated and, in 1972, received Dodds' normal green and cream livery. Both are pictured here on a visit to London, opposite Victoria Coach Station and outside the BOAC terminal.
They each later received new Willowbrook 003 bodies, 559 re-entering service in May 1980 and 560 in September 1979 and they were re-registered 5141LJ (559) and 8683LJ (560) in May 1983.
In their new guise they remained in service with Dodds until 1985 when both were sold to AJ Chapman (Regency Travel), Lewes. They then became 81 and 83 with Brighton Borough Transport. 81 (5141LJ) was not used by Brighton but 83 lasted about a year before being re-registered ECD304C and sold on for non-psv use, finally going for scrap at Ripley, Carlton, in 1993.
