A view inside Huddersfield Corporation Longroyd Bridge depot late 1967/early 1968.
On the left one of Huddersfield's first batch of Fleetlines with Roe bodies 473-489, KVH473-489E new in 1967.
In front of the Fleetline is trolleybus 622 which was a BUT 9641T with East Lancs H40/32R body new in 1956.
One of the AEC Mandator tower wagons is parked in front of 622.
In the next bay is what looks like 631 which was the first, numerically of the last batch of trolleybuses for Huddersfield, 631-640, PVH931-940, Sunbeam S7A's with East Lancs H40/32R bodies new in 1959.
In the next bay is 440, CCX440B one of a batch of six Daimler CVG6LX30's with East Lancs H39/31F bodies new in 1964.
What is interesting about this batch of Daimlers is that originally the body order was for four trolleybus bodies to complete the re-bodying programme for the 1947-49 Karrier/Sunbeam MS2's. However, after the original body order had been placed with East Lancs in 1963 the Borough council decided the trolleybus system would be abandoned so the original order was amended to motorbus bodies and increased by two and six additional CVG6LX30 chassis to the ones already on order (with Roe bodies) were ordered from Daimler.
