Huddersfield 191, PVH991 a Guy Arab IV with East Lancs H37/28R body.
191 is seen here working the ex Hanson Meltham-Huddersfield via Helme and Milnsbridge route.
More than likely taken on the same day as David's photo of 375, it is seen passing through "T'hole int wall" in the opposite direction, Huddersfield bound.
In the early days of the takeover the ex JOC buses drafted in to supplement the ex Hanson fleet could only show the basic HUDDERSFIELD or MELTHAM on their blinds and this led to much confusion to passengers, particularly at the Huddersfield end because they thought they were getting on the Meltham via Netherton 22/3 route, a completely different route.
Many was the time intending passengers for Lockwood and Netherton at the stop outside the co-op in New St. the only stop shared by the JOC and Hanson Meltham bound routes would get on the vaguely route indicated Meltham bus only to find it turned onto the A62 Manchester Rd. towards Longroyd Bridge rather than going down Chapel Hill towards Lockwood.
There was always a mass scramble of people getting off at the first stop on Manchester Rd.
That was something I witnessed several times.
