Hanson rebuilds 370, VVH350 and 349, MVH837.
Seen here in the centre of Meltham on the night of 25/9/69. 349, being the oldest bus in the fleet had been adorned by Hanson's staff to celebrate the end of the stage carriage services of the company.
It did a tour of Hanson routes with around sixty current and retired employees on board.
349 is seen towards the end of the tour, parked outside the Swan Inn, Meltham which, until the opening of Meltham bus station in 1964 had been the starting point for their Meltham-Huddersfield service.
Passing is fellow rebuild 370 on the normal Meltham-Huddersfield service.
370 usually worked the 30 minutes past the hour departure from Meltham so I'm guessing this is either 9.30 or 10.30pm.
I did actually witness this event though I can't remember the time. Thankfully my good friend David was on hand with his camera to record it.
