Glasgow 1089 was an experimental tram, built in 1925/6, which entered service in August 1926.
It is seen here at Partick depot and had Brill 77E1 bogies with a Glasgow built body 36 seat body which had later been altered to seat 20 with room for 38 standing passengers for 'crush-load' operation on shipyard services. It was last used in regular service in June 1961, was repainted to participate in the closing procession in September 1962, and then passed to the Museum of Transport in Glasgow.
