Bradford Corporation Tramways 56 was a Brush 28/22 seat open-top car with a Peckham Cantilever B9 truck dating from 1901 and was soon fitted with this "Bailey" top cover.
In 1921 it was converted to Snow Plough S14.
This unposted card shows Queensbury terminus where this car 56 had the distinction of opening the service on 2nd August 1901. It was one of Bradford's "if-only" locations, where different track gauges prevented through running, this time between Bradford's 4ft tracks and Halifax's 3ft 6in tracks seen in the foreground, over which service commenced on 25th April 1901. If only the photographer working for the postcard publisher H.G. Glen & Co. of Leeds had waited for a Halifax car to arrive to add to the interest.
