In these official West Yorkshire views, it shows a remarkably well organised Wellington Street Coach Station in Leeds.
From left to right are MWY232, from West Yorkshire's Leeds depot, ready to work to Hull on service 46. It was a Bristol LS5G with ECW DP41F body, new to West Yorkshire in 1955.
NHN152 was new to United in 1950 as BG484, entering service in 1951 and at that time was a Bristol LL5G with ECW B39R body. In 1954 it, along with the other 2 Uniteds shown in this view, was re-engined to Bristol AVW and reseated to DP33R and renumbered BBE18. It was then further reseated in 1960, back to B39R and renumbered again, to BB68. Here it is about to work to Whitby on service 91.
Next is ECK162, Ribble 882, a Leyland Royal Tiger PSU1/15 with Leyland C41C body, new in 1951. It has arrived from Blackpool or Fleetwood on the J1 Yorkshire Services Pool service.
Next is FCK414, another Ribble Royal Tiger, but numbered 914 and new in 1953. This has arrived from Morecambe on service X88. In the corner is an East Yorkshire Leyland Royal Tiger with Weymann rear entrance body, probably from the same batch as the other in this view. Then follow another pair of United Bristol LLs, NHN157/NHN171, new as LL5Gs BG 489/503, but similarly reseated to DP33R in 1954 and renumbered BBE 14/13, and again reseated back to B39R in 1961 as BB 64/63. The first is about to head to Middlesbrough and the second to Liverpool.
Then comes MKH412, East Yorkshire 594, a Leyland Royal Tiger PSU1/13 with Weymann B42R body, new in 1952. The reflection makes the destination unreadable, but as the West Yorkshire LS is heading for Hull, the EYMS Royal Tiger(s) were probably heading for Bridlington. Then comes JWU889, West Yorkshire CB 1, a 1950 Bristol L6B with ECW FC31F body. This was also allocated to Leeds at this time and is carrying a board for the service to Yeadon Airport in connection with BKS Air Transport flights. A few years later a dedicated vehicle, JWU891, received fixed headboards for the service.
Finally, another Ribble Royal Tiger coach, destined for Blackpool. As for a date, the earliest can be the Summer of 1955 when MWY232 was new, and the latest 1958, when JWU891 became the dedicated BKS bus, as mentioned above.
