Southdown 153, DUF153, was a Leyland TD5 which was fitted with a Park Royal H52R body when new in 1937. In common with many of their TD4s and TD5s new in the late 30s it was rebodied after the war - in this case by Beadle (H28/26R) in 1948.
This positively antediluvian looking 6 bay body looked older than the chassis and did not compare well with the other examples in the rebodying programme by East Lancs, Saunders, Park Royal and Northern Counties which were much more modern looking. The 1949 Beadle rebodies lost a bay which helped a bit - but not a lot.
