Another street scene (and the back of a trolleybus) from Roger's collection. Portsmouth 1936 AEC 661T/ Cravens 90, RV9141, is stood in Commercial Road at the Surrey Street stop.
For those with a sweet tooth the Chocolate King is alongside the bus and Macdonalds dentists are also there to sort out the resulting damage. The sign for the Swiss Cafe Restaurant is mounted on the traction pole as is another of the lantern street lamps. Barclays Bank is still on the corner of Edinburgh Road, but if Hitler did not do for the buildings on the right (the toilet saloon in intriguing), then Debenhams did postwar - now that store is threatened with demolition. Any ideas on the cars?
