Portsmouth 46, BTP946, was a Wadham B32R bodied Leyland LZ4 new in 6/39. It had a more interesting life than it expected. In 1940 it was requisitioned by the War Department, being returned in 1942.
It then settled down to a mundane existence until withdrawal in 11/54. It was sold to G.A.Neal (Contractor) in 4/55 and survived until 7/63 at least - it was engineless, but was towed between sites, being used as living quarters for staff.
It lasted longer than 41 & 42 of the same batch which were destroyed by enemy action at Eastney in March 1941
