Portsmouth 35, RV719, was a one-off AEC Regent/Short H26/24R new 10/31.
The chassis number was 6611583 although it had a 8.8 litre engine - apparently it was built before AEC adopted the O prefix for oil engined chassis. It lasted until 1941 when it was destroyed by enemy action at Eastney, the engine and gearbox passing to Nottingham City Transport for spares in 1942.
There was also a sole Crossley Condor and 7 TD1s supplied in 1931. No further bus orders were to follow for AEC (although they did well with trolleybuses), 1932 saw a mixture of double decks from Crossley (10), Ley;land (10) and Tilling Stevens (9), before the corporation saw the error of their ways and settled on Leylands for the next few years
