Roger Janes Memorial Gallery

In addition to 12 English Electric bodied Leyland TD4s, in 1935 Portsmouth took delivery of 4 more TD4s, but with Leylands own all-metal vee-fronted bodies. Roger had in his collection an official view of the first of the batch - 127, RV6370.
It was reseated from H26/26R to H26/24R in 1944, rebuilt by the Corporation in 1957, and was renumbered 129 in July 1959 to make room for the final one of the STP registered batch of Leyland PD3s. It was withdrawn 6/64, the engine being used for spares. It was then partially dismantled and the remains made their way to Barnsley in January 1965.
