An ex-London bus with a connection (albeit brief) with Southend! GJ2017 was an AEC Regent new in June 1930 to Thomas Tilling as their no 6017. It was taken over by LPTB in October 1933 and numbered ST841.
It was withdrawn from service in September 1939, passing to the BBC for staff transport in May 1940. It then passed to Grey Saloon Coaches, Southend-on-Sea in August 1946 and was withdrawn by December that year. In this AEC official view it is passing the Marble Arch, presumably when it was quite new.
